Yesterday, on a Resurrection Sunday that I will never forget, our Allie girl accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She had sin weighing her down with shame and guilt and in tears she asked the Lord to make her clean.
Listening to her pray her simple, yet specific prayer in tears, I got choked up myself. What a miracle a new birth in Christ is and how beautiful! We’ve been praying for our little girl … for the ground of her heart to be prepared and ready for the seed of the gospel of salvation, for her heart to stay tender toward the Lord, for everything she’s learned about Christ to “click” and make sense to her.

It was a delight listening to her and watching her later that evening. Her whole countenance completely changed and the burden of sin that had been weighing her down was no more…she was as light as a feather! Her smile came from a deeper place and stuck on her face all evening. She made a comment that caught my attention – she said, “I feel healthy.” And isn’t that exactly how one should feel after being born again into a new life in Christ? Healthy. I just love that! =)
Watching all that take place, I couldn’t help but sit there and feel completely unworthy. Unworthy that God has heard my prayers. But what a blessing that God’s salvation has nothing to do with me, but everything to do with how complete Christ’s work on the cross is and was. We serve a truly amazing God! I’ve included a song below I’ve been enjoying in honor of my daughter being “forgiven forever” and as a reminder to each of us who have become new creatures in Christ through our rebirth by His salvation!!
Praising Jesus,
Adriel
